The Delivery Team need to organise and schedule everything they do so they can respond to all those questions that come from customers and the internal teams. The Finance Team simply can’t do their job without the best accounting system and spreadsheet tools on the planet.

You’re right, it’s a lot of systems and you want your team to have the best tools (within reason) to do their job… and you want information when you want it.

The fallacy of more specialised systems creating more value for your customers is simply just that, a fallacy.  For each system you have in place, there is a monthly subscription to pay for the app, training for new employees and the hidden cost of transferring information from one system to another and a spreadsheet is considered a system today – just ask the person that runs that work of art that records important company information and is the source of information when you’re reviewing the business.  Are you sure using the right version?
